Our take
KeePassium passed an independent security audit by Cure53, which is a meaningful bar for a niche app. It reads and writes the same .kdbx files as KeePassXC on desktop, so users who want a local-first setup across Mac and iPhone without ever touching a password manager’s cloud can build a clean two-app stack. The source is published under GPL and the core is free, with premium unlocking convenience features like multi-database access and long-term sync. The limitation: it is iOS and macOS only, so teams mixing platforms will need a separate Android solution.
