Few password managers have been stress-tested at the scale 1Password has, and the independent audits, published white paper, and bug bounty program all hold up to scrutiny. The Secret Key architecture is genuinely clever: even a server-side breach can’t decrypt your vault without the key that never leaves your devices. The catch is purely the model: it is closed-source and subscription-only, so you are trusting a company’s word on the internals rather than reading the code yourself. For teams and families who want a polished, audited, zero-knowledge cloud manager and don’t need open source, it remains a top-tier pick.
