Firefox is already one of the more privacy-respecting browsers, and a small set of extensions sharpens it further. The right ones block ads and trackers, strip tracking parameters out of links, and clean up cookies after you leave a site. These are the ones worth installing. On another browser? See the all-browsers, Chrome, and Safari lists.
One strong content blocker, uBlock Origin, does most of the work: ads, trackers, and malware domains in a single extension. Add a couple of targeted tools for what it does not cover, like stripping tracking parameters from URLs or clearing cookies automatically. Avoid stacking ten overlapping extensions, since each is more to trust and more that can break a page.
Firefox ships with tracking protection and sensible defaults, so you need fewer extensions here than on Chrome. Rely on its built-in protections, add uBlock Origin, and only reach for extras that fill a specific gap. A smaller set of extensions also leaves a less distinctive fingerprint.
Open-source extensions with an active maintainer and a narrow, clear purpose. Be wary of “all-in-one privacy” extensions that ask for broad permissions and a subscription; they often do less than uBlock Origin alone while seeing everything you browse.
