Our take
SponsorBlock is more quality-of-life than privacy tool, crowdsourcing the timestamps of sponsor reads and intros so your player skips them automatically, and it is free and open source. The honest note is that it depends on volunteers having already marked a video, so newer or obscure clips may not be covered, and it is a YouTube convenience rather than a tracking defense. Install it because it makes watching better, not because it protects you; for that, pair it with a real blocker.
