Our take
Sharing files or hosting a site directly over your own Tor onion service, with no third party in the middle, is about as private as file transfer gets. The cost is in convenience and speed: the recipient needs Tor, your machine has to stay online for the duration, and transfers crawl compared to a normal link. The right tool when nobody should be able to see that a transfer happened; the wrong one for sending a big file to a non-technical friend in a hurry.
