Our take

The generous 20GB free tier is the obvious draw, and the encryption is client-side so the host should not be able to read your files. The honest caveat is that the free plan’s daily transfer limit will bite if you sync large amounts, and MEGA’s history means some people prefer not to lean on it for their most sensitive data. Good as a high-capacity free option for general files; pick something else if maximum trust is the priority.
