Our take
Fairphone is the rare privacy phone that wins on ethics and longevity rather than raw hardening. It is built to be opened and repaired with a single screwdriver, and supported with updates years past what most Android makers offer. The honest catch is security depth: it has no dedicated secure element like the one a Pixel uses to keep verified boot intact, so GrapheneOS will not run on it and /e/OS leans on microG rather than strict sandboxing. Pick it if repairability and a de-Googled phone out of the box matter more to you than the hardest possible threat model.
